A POTLUCK PINCNIC AND WRITING WORKSHOP ON THE PRAIRIE
Henry Panowitsch’s prairie, near Good Thunder
Come explore a Prairie piece and be inspired by the woodlands, river and prairie to write! We will supply the brats/burger and buns; you bring a side dish (salads, beans, veggies, chips or dessert). Wear sturdy boots so we can walk in the prairie and woods, and clothes that will resist stickers.
We'd like to get an accurate headcount, so please RSVP by email to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Put Prairie Picnic in subject line and let us know how many in your party.
Directions to Prairie Farm Picnic
There is road construction on the road (Old Highway 66, new County 1). If you are coming from Mankato, you must approach Good Thunder from Highway 22, turn right at Beauford onto County Road 10. Follow it to Good Thunder to the eastern edge. Just before you get into town you will see County 1 to your right. (north). The road is marked closed, but the road is passable. Go through the road closed signs and proceed about one mile, turn right on 161st Lane (gravel road). We will post a sign at the corner. We are the first building site on the right hand side, turn through the gates.
Please wear comfortable clothes—long sleeves and pants for the prairie tour (watch out for clothes that will hold stickers), you can change into shorts if you want, after. Please bring your high spirits, curiosity about nature and a good appetite.
